Buyers and sellers benefit at Bosveld I auction
The recent first of three 2017 Bosveld branded auctions, created by Wildswinkel, delivered results that pleased buyers and sellers. The Wildswinkel auction venue close to Bela-Bela in Limpopo was host to some 400 eager attendants. The auction did not disappoint and created a vibrant marketplace for participants.
Wildswinkel managed an auction turnover on the day of R14.4m. A highlight of the auction was the last lot of the day, when the 441⁄16″ East African buffalo bull Kronos, offered by Meletse Breeders, sold for R950 000. Louis van der Watt of Meletse Breeders was happy with the result and remarked that the Bosveld auctions provide a platform for all game ranchers to sell quality animals and to buy lots to enhance their own breeding operations.
Other buffalo lots also performed well, with a 31″ buffalo cow in calf to a 44″ Madikwe bull sold for R350 000 for Boesmanskraal Safaris. John Botes Boerdery sold a 296⁄8″ buffalo heifer in calf to 44″ De la Rey for R325 000 and a 315⁄8″ buffalo heifer also in calf to 44″ De la Rey for R600 000.
The rest of the auction delivered expected prices for the current game auction cycle, with average animals receiving good averages prices.
